Messuraporttia - Fair Report

Viikonloppuna järjestettiin taas Tampereella Suomen kädentaito-messut ja kävin siellä lauantaina. Tunkua oli kauheasti, mutta onneksi pääasiassa hallien oviaukkojen läheisyydessä. Hampurilaiset oli taas viime vuodesta siirretty eri luukulle ja jono oli järkyttävä, onneksi nopealiikkeinen kuitenkin. Mitäs muuta...kuohuviinibaari on kyllä yksi parhaimpia messuständejä, mutta siellä oli jotenkin viime vuotista vähemmän istumapaikkoja. Skumppa oli kuitenkin hyvää ja kylmää.

Entäs ne ostokset sitten? Hieman kankaita tarttui mukaan Peikonpojalta ja Poppanavakalta (juu, ja pöllöinnostus jatkuu).

This weekend we had the Finnish handicraft fair at Tampere and I was there too. Too many people, but fortunately only around the entryways to the different halls. Hamburger stall had changed the cashier points around from last year and the queue was horrid but luckily quite fast-moving. What else...the wine bar is definitely among one of the best stalls but it seemed like there was more seats last year. But the sparkly was good and cold.

About the purchases, I got some fabrics from Peikonpoika and Poppanavakka (yes, I have a thing for owls).

Lankaidealta ostin tarjouslankaa, Filatura di Crosan Superioria. Aivan ihkupehmeää, 75% kashmiria, 25% silkkiä ja 5% merinoa ja uskomattomat 300 m / 25 g. Ostin neljä kerää ja ajattelin tehdä jonkun unelmankevyen neulepaidan. Lapasheijastimia oli myös messuilla, mutta kävimme ostamassa niitä ennen messuille menoa Taitoshopista. Säästimme peräti 10 senttiä/heijastin, wohoo!

From Lankaidea I got their fair special, Filatura di Crosa Superior. 70% kashmir, 25% silk and 5% merino and unbelievable 300 m / 25 g. I got four skeins so I can knit a dreamy, light as a cloud, sweater. Mitten-reflector could have been bought at the fair also, but we got ours at the Taito-shop in the city, and saved 10 cents/piece. Wohoo!

Titityyltä mukaan tarttui se ainoa jäljelläoleva turkoosi Madelintoshin Tosh Lace. Ylläri.

Röyhelöhuivin tuntuvat olevan tämän vuoden juttu, ja niitä puolivalmistelankoja löytyikin monelta kojulta. En kyllä ymmärrä moista termiä, sillä minusta puolivalmistelanka olisi ennemminkin hahtuvaa, koska sehän on sellaista esilankaa, eikä suinkaan näitä verkkolankoja. Näistähän se valmis tuote pitää kuitenkin tehdä, neuloa, ei tunnu kauhean puolivalmisteelta tämä. Mutta, äiti ihastui Kotkan neulehäppeningissä moisiin joten lupasin sitten tehdä röyhelöhuivin, sellaisen ohuen. 100 % akryyliä, ihanaa... OnLinen Solo, josta olen jo pari hörhelöä aiemmin tehnyt, on sentään villaa.

Teeteeltä ostin pari vyyhtiä magentaa Taigaa. Kauluri ja pipo, todennäköisesti.

Frilly scarfs seem to be the thing this year and many stalls sold those, and there were plenty of variations. My Mom liked one a few weeks back when we went to this handicraft happening when I was at Kotka so I promised to make her one. 100% acrylic, lovely. I have made a couple frilly scarves before (one for me and one for Mom. but a wide one) using OnLine Solo, but that is wool, though.

From Teetee I got two skeins of Taiga. A cowl and a hat, probably.

Matkaneule aiheutti pohdintaa. Otin kuitenkin mukaan Bridgewaterin, vaikka seuraavana vuorossa olikin silmukoiden poimimista. 153 silmukkaa / sivu, 4 sivua. Eli runsaasti siis. Sain poimittua junamatkan aikana kolmen sivun silmukat. Tylsää, mutta välttämätöntä touhua. Enää puuttuu yksi sivu ja pääsen reunapitsin neulontaa.

I had some trouble choosing the travel knit, but I decided to take my Bridgewater, even though the next phase was picking up stitches. Four sides, 153 sitches / side, so a lot of stitches to be picked up. During the trip I managed to do the picking up for three sides. Only one side to go and then I can start knitting the edge lace.

Kaikenkaikkiaan mukava messumatka, vaikka katsottavaa on aina enemmän kuin mitä jaksaa. Miinuksia Tampereen kaupungille, tai oikeastaan sen liikennelaitokselle - bussien lähtöpaikkoja oli taas muuteltu ja opasteita ei ollut. Lisäksi pikabussin aikataulut löytyivät vain messujen sivuilta.

All in all a nice trip, though there is always more stands than one has the energy to see. Minus points this time go to the city of Tampere - especially its transport section - for the bus stops had been changed again and there were no info about the buses to the exhibition hall. And on top of that the timetables for the express buses were only at the Pirkkahalli web site.

Messuhankintoja - Craft fair purchases

Maaliskuun aloittaa mukavasti Helsingin Kädentaitomessut Wanhassa satamassa. Viime syksyisestä poiketen päädyin kanssaneulojan kera messuille vasta joskus kahden maissa iltapäivällä. Aika oli kätevä, koska messuilla mahtui etenemään kunnolla eikä tarvinnut turvautua kyynärpäätaktiikkaan ja osastoillekin mahtui.

Tällä kertaa en löytänyt sitä mitä menin hakemaan - nimittäin koruntekoon sopivaa puuvillanyöriä, vahattuna tai ilman ja mielellään tummanvihreänä - mutta jotain muuta tarttui mukaan. Titityyn kojulta ostin harmaata BC-garnin Sarah Tweed silkkiskoitelankaa (50% mulperisilkkiä, 10 % bourettesilkkiä ja 40% villaa). Kujeelta ostin kaunista tummaa Shibui Knitsin Sock-lankaa värissä Ink (keskimmäinen) ja myös vyyhdin sinivihreää Cascade Yarsin Heritage-sukkalankaa, joka ei valitettavasti päässyt kuvaan. Villakivellä on myynnissä sekä villaa että korutarvikkeita, mutta tällä kertaa sieltä lähti mukaan lankaa. 3 kahden hinnalla oli houkutteleva tarjous ja langan väri kaunis. Kolme vyyhtiä Punta Yarnsin Merisoft Solid-lankaa tummana turkoosina/petroolinsinisenä siis.

The craft fair in Helsinki Wanha satama is a good way to start March. I went there with a fellow knitter on Saturday. Contrary to last autumn we arrived at the fair quite late on the afternoon, around two o'clock. That was actually a very good time for there was plenty of room on the aisles and we did not have to resort to elbows to get to the stands.

This time I did not find what I went there to get - that is cotton string suitable for jewellery use, waxed or not, preferably in dark green - but I picked up a couple of this and a couple of that. From Titityy I picked up a few skeins of BC Garn Sarah Tweed silk-wook yarn (50% mulberry silk, 10% bourette silk, 40% wool) in grey. The one in the middle is from yarn shop Kuje and is Shibui Knits Shibui Sock in Ink. I also bought a skein of Cascade Yarns Heritage sock yarn but I forgot to put it into the picture. The one in the top is from Villakivi for their 3 for the price of 2 offer was tempting. It is Punta Yarns Merisoft Solid in dark turquoise/petrol.

Helmien talosta poimin mukaani muutaman helminauhan vaikka heillä ei mitään messutarjouksia näyttänytkään olevan. Eri kokoisia lasihelmiä turkoosina ja rusehtavana ja hieman blingiä: kiinalaisia kristallihelmiä paria kokoa. Ilmeisesti nauhojen kuvaaminen samalla kertaa ei ollut oikein hyvä idea koska en saanut kristalleja toistumaan oikean värisinä eikä kuvankäsittelykään siinä auttanut. Ne ovat luonnossa voimakkaan sinivihreitä. Kyllä, sinivihreä kausi jatkuu edelleen.

From Helmien talo I picked up some bead strings even though they did not seem to have any fair specials. Some glass beads in turquoise and brown, in three sizes. Also a bit of bling: Chinese crystal beads, big and small. It obviously was not a good idea to photograph them all at once for I could not get the crystals to turn out right even thought I tried some serious photoshopping. But they are really quite strong blue-green colour. Yes, my bluish green period is still going on strong.

ADHD-takki etenee - en onnistunut aloittamaan mitään uutta vaikka hieman mieli tekikin. Työviikko oli aika kamottava - ja lisää seuraa - joten en ole jaksanut saati ehtinyt neuloa kauheasti. Mutta eteneehän tuo pikkuhiljaa. Toisaalta tuntuu hassulta neuloa kashmiria kun kevät kolkuttelee ovella mutta toisaalta ei sitä viitsisi keskenkään jättää. Ja ehtiihän maaliskuussakin vielä olla kylmä.

My ADHD-cardi is progressing, albeit slowly. I've managed to knit only it even though I've been thinking of spring knits lately. My work week was quite horrible - and there's more to come - so I've not had that much energy for knitting. Although it feels a bit funny knitting cashmere when spring is at the door but I do not like to leave it unfinished either. So I think I'll just keep on knitting it for it can be cold in March too.

Pikatalvi: lisää vain lumi - Instant winter: just add snow

Torstaina töihinlähtijää tervehti lähes tällainen maisema (kuva ei ole torstailta vaan hieman sen jälkeen joten lunta ehti tulla lisää) ja liikenne oli kaaoksessa, tietenkin. Talvirenkailla varustettujen autojen seassa pyöri kesärenkaallisia ja bussit olivat myöhässä. Uutisen arvoista oli se, että VR oli kerrankin aikataulussa lähijunien suhteen. Sinänsä pieni kaaos ei ollut mikään ihme, sillä lunta ei sanottavammin tätä ennen täällä etelässä ole näkynyt. Nyt sitten taisikin tulla talvi kerralla, sillä lunta tulee parhaillaan lisää ja tämän illan ja huomisen sateet tuovat ennusteiden mukaan noin kymmenen senttiä lisää lunta. Ja missähän kunnossa se liikenne huomenna on...

On Thursday when I stepped out of the building to go to work I came across something like this (the photo is not from Thursday so we got a bit more snow since then). The traffic was in chaos for there were cars with summer tires amongst those with winter ones and the buses were late. The only newsworthy item about the day was that the trains were on time. Too bad I don't use a train when going to work for it took me almost an hour and I almost missed the start of a workshop I was organizing. But, it was no wonder there was a bit of an chaos for we haven't seen that much snow here in Southern Finland before this. And now it seems like we got an instant winter for it is snowing more as we speak and they predict that today's and tomorrow's rains will bring us about 10 centimeters more of the white stuff. I wonder what the traffic is like tomorrow...

Mutta, lauantaina olin Tampereella messuilla. Minulla oli lista: BC garnin Jaipur Silk Finoa jossain sopivassa värissä (minulla on jo hieman väriä h30), ehkä jotain samaisen firman Soft Silk-väriä (sitäkin löytyy turkoosissa kaksi vyyhtiä) ja Toikan merino lux-lankaa tummansinisenä.

Ensimmäisenä siis ryntäsimme Kristan kanssa Titityyn standille. Ja kyllä, sieltähän sitä löytyi, Jaipur Silk Finoa. Tuollaisena vaaleana turkoosina. Ja ehkä mukaan tuli pari vyyhtiä (tai kolme), petroolia Silkbloom extra finoa.

But, on Saturday I went to the fair in Tampere. I had a list: some BC garn Jaipur Silk Fino in a suitable colour (for I have a few skeins of colour h30 already), maybe some Soft Silk from the same company (I have two skeins in turquoise) and a cone of Toika's Merino Lux in navy.

So, first we, Krista and I, went to Titityy's stand. And yes, there it was, the Silk Fino, in lovely pale turquoise. And maybe I got a skein (or three) of BC garn Silkbloom fino in teal.

Toikan langasta tässä nyt ei olekaan kuvaa, mutta, kuvitelkaa mariini kartio (tai tässä kuvassa taimmainen). Tarveostos, sillä neuletakki kaipaa hieman etureunaa ja kaulusta. Kujeen kojulta ostin lauman Cascade 220-vyyhtejä sinivihreänä, kuinkas muuten. Olisin ehkä ennemmin ottanut jotain niistä meleeratuista Heathers-sävyistä, mutta tarjolla ei niitä paljon ollut.

I don't have a picture of Toika's yarn, but you can probably picture a cone of shiny navy yarn (or take a look at this photo, it's the one in the back). It was a planned purchase for my cardi needs a bit of something to the fronts and a collar. From Kuje I got a herd of Cascade 220 skeins in lovely teal, what else. I was a bit more interested in the Heathers-category but they didn't have much of those there.

Siinäpä ne, langat siis, luulisin. Sitten tuli osteltua hieman muutakin, kuten silmukkamerkkejä Peikonpojalta (taottuja hopearenkaita).

Those were the yarn purchases, I think. Then I got some bits and pieces like silver stitch markers from Peikonpoika.

Parit poronnahkarukkaset, itselle ja isälle (yksi joululahja selätetty jo). Kohta näille varmasti tulee käyttöäkin jo. Kiva oli löytää kerrankin sopivat rukkaset tarpeeksi pitkällä sormiosalla ja napakalla varrella.

A couple of pairs of reindeer-skin mittens. One for me and one for my dad (one xmas present down). It was nice to be able to find a pair of mittens with long enough finger part and long cuff. I think I'll find some use for these soon.

Pistäydyin myös kivipuolella ja sieltä tuli mukaan jokunen kivinauha. Vuorikristallia ja mattapintaista onyxiä.

I also popped into the jewellery and gemstone fair and got a few strands of stones: rock crystal cubes and matte onyx beads.

Kävin, ostin, höpötin - I went, I bought, I talked

Kyllä, minäkin olin Tampereen messuilla, lauantaina, edustamassa Ullaa ja messuilemassa muuten vaan. Meitä oli neljä edustajaa, mutta kukaan ei muistanut ottaa kameraa. Siksi messuilta luvassa vain huonoja kännykällä otettuja kuvia. Marjutilla on ehkä hieman paremmin rajattuja otoksia. Neuleita oli mukana jonkin verran.

Yes, I was at the big arts and crafts fair in Tampere last Saturday. I was there to represent Ulla with my fellow Ulla-representatives. Though there were four of us nobody remembered to bring a camera so you'll have to suffer my not-so-good cell phone photos. Marjut has a bit clearer photos, I think.

Suosituimpia hiplattavia neuleita taisivat olla yläkuvan valkoinen möykkysetti (pipo ja huivi, mutta en tiedä miten tuosta erottaa), Cirrocumulus siis. Se kun on sitä ah, niin trendikästä pampulalankaa. Sekä alakuvassa komeileva Noro-huivi, mallia Esmeralda. Paljon mielenkiintoa herätti myös alakuvassa vasemmalla oleva poncho.

I think the favourite knits that people fondled as they went by were the white set seen in the first photo (a hat and a scarf but not very recognizable in the photo), Cirrocumulus that is. For it is made of that now so trendy pom-pom yarn. And the Noro scarf seen in the above photo, Esmeralda. Also much admired was the poncho in the photo below, on the left.

Paikka oli sikäli hyvä, että se toimi läpikulkupaikkana joulukorttiarvostelusta sukkalanka-arvontaan. Ihmisiä riitti, ja myös monelle Ulla oli uusi tuttavuus. Ja minkä helppoheikin maailma on minussa menettänytkään. Pitäisiköhän vaihtaa markkinointialalle?

The stand was in a quite a good place for people moved through there to get from xmas card wall to sock yarns. So we had plenty of traffic and for quite a few Ulla was a novelty (but hopefully a good one). And maybe I should consider a career change to marketing?

Vaikka lähdimme messuilta ennen niiden kiinnimenoa ja suuri osa ajasta 11-15 tuli vietettyä ständillä, niin ehdin silti shoppaamaan. Huomasin pois lähtiessäni että vaikka lankaa tuli ostettua, niin enpä onnistunut ostamaan itselleni mitään. Tapion kaupasta sain ennakkotilauksella viisi kerää Ornaghin Fashion Merinoa. Näistä pitäisi saada aikaan inca-tyylinen läppäpipo kummipojalle. Valkoisia lumitähtiä mustalla pohjalla ja turkoosit viimeistelyt. Tässä on kyllä sen verran oma lehmä ojassa että jos lanka vaikuttaa kivalle niin voisin tuota turkoosia paidan verran hankkia. Tapiolla 10+ kyllä mahtavasta palvelusta. Laitoin tuossa nimittäin viime viikon sunnuntaina sähköpostia josko olisi tuota tulossa messuille esille - ei ollut mutta ottivat nuo mukaan minua varten.

Although we left the fair before it closed and spend the best part of 11-15 at the stand, I managed to do some shopping. Although as I was leaving I noticed that though I bought some yarn I did not get any for myself. But, the above yarn, Ornaghi Fashion Merino, I got from Tapion kauppa. They're destined to become a inca-style hat for my godson, white snowflake patterns on black with turquoise trimming. Though I had in mind to test this yarn and if it seems nice I might get a sweater's worth of the turquoise. And plus points to Tapio for good service. Last week on Sunday I emailed them asking if they were planning on taking this yarn to the fair and they answered quickly and even though they did not have this on their stand they took it along for me. Superb service.

Lappajärven värjäämöltä ostin kolme kartiota pellavaa, vaikka entisetkään eivät ole vielä neuloutuneet. Näistä (ja niistä vanhoista) tulee tyynynpäällisiä äidille. Jotain kirjoneuletta ja koneella. Torstaina voisin kokeilla mallitilkkuja.

From Lappajärven värjäämö I got three cones of linen yarn even tough I still haven't knitted the ones I have. But these - and the older ones - will become pillow cases for my Mother. Something stranded, with a machine. I must try to make some samples on Thursday.

Veljen joululahjaa varten kaipasin mustaa ja oranssia. Ihan sellaista mitä kaipailin en löytänyt, tuo on luonnossa kellervämpää, mutta tämä pari saanee kelvata. Wetterhoffilta, Sofiaa ja Sivillaa. Eipä näistä nyt sen enempää.

For my brother's christmas gift I needed some black and orange yarn and these were the best I found. Not quite what I was looking for (the orange is more yellowish in real life) but close enough. From Wetterhoff, Sofia and Sivilla. And that's all I'm going to write about that.

But that was that - well, I got something for Ulla's xmas party. And for myself I got two packets of plastic beads, yay! And now I have a cold and I'm snuffly...

Messut, messut - The fair, the fair

Kävin kädentaitomessuilla minäkin. Siellä tapasin monta tuttua naamaa, kiitos Jennille kyydistä ja Marjutille ja Satulle kyyti-ja kahvitteluseurasta. Törmäsin moneen tuttuun messuilla, myös työpaikan assistenttiin jonka en edes tiennyt neulovan. Näin sitä oppii uutta.

Ensin vaelsin muiden mukana Titityyn kojulle josta ei löytynyt oikein mitään kivaa. Katselin Shibui Knitsin Merino Alpacaa, mutta totesin sen hieman liian tyyriiksi ostaa ilman mitään aietta. Eli sinne jäi sekin, hyllylle. Lankaostokset aukaisi Poppelin koju ja sen jakit. Shokayn Orient-lankaa lähti mukaan kauniissa taivaansinisessä (Cerulean) kaksi vyyhtiä (75 % jakkia ja 25 % bambua). Huivi, todennäköisesti. Katselin myös saman kehräämön paksumpaa täysjakkilankaa sillä silmällä, mutta värejä oli aika vähän ja valikoiman ainoa kiinnostava oli aika voimakas magentanpunainen, eikä se nyt kiinnostanut tällä kertaa.

I went to the handicraft fair in Helsinki yesterday. I met many familiar faces kthere, tank you Jenni for the ride and Marjut and Satu for the company (among others). I even met the assistant from work and I did not even know that she knits. You learn something new every day.

First I went to the Titityy stand like everyone else but I did not find anything too interesting. I had my eye on Shibui Knits Merino Alpaca, but I thought it was way too expensive to buy just because. I did not have anything in mind and the feel or the colours of it weren't a must, so there it stayed. My yarn purchases started at Poppeli's stand where I got distracted by yak. I bought these two above, Shokay Orient in lovely cerulean blue (75 % yak, 25 % bamboo). They had the thicker all-yak yarn there too, but there were only a few colours and the one that I would have even considered was quite a strong magenta red and I did not feel like getting anything that strong so I got the thinner mix instead. A scarf, probably.

Lankamaailma Nordialla oli Zauberballeja kivasti esillä ja kun Kirsi neuloskeli Espoon neuletapaamisessa taannoin kivaa raita-Baktusta niin ostin kun eteen sattui. Meinaan minäkin Baktuksen näistä. Niin, ostin siis kaksi kerää vaikkei kuvassa näykään kuin yksi. Väri on frische Fische, joka kai myös tropiikkina tai trooppisena kalana tunnetaan.

Yarn shop Nordia had these Zauberballs nicely displayed and since Kirsi was knitting a cute striped Baktus at a Espoo knit meet a while ago I wanted to have one too. And so I got two balls of colour called frische Fische, which I believe is also known as Tropical Fish. These will become a Baktus too to brighten up my black winter coat.

Ennen lähtöä ajauduin taas Titityyn kojulle ja kas kummaa, nyt sieltä löytyikin jotain mukaanotettavaa. Olin jo kaivelemassa mukaan BC Garnin Luccaa (merinovillaa, väri ub 38) villapaitaa varten kivassa turkoosinsinisessä kunnes silmiin osui saman firman Soft Silk (100 % bourrettesilkkiä) niin jäi se kauppaan se toinen. Silkissä kun oli aivan uskomattoman upea tumma, voimakas turkoosinpetroolinsininen - joka ei tietenkään toistu kuvassa niin kauniina. Meinasin jättää mokoman hyllyyn kun sitä oli vain kaksi vyyhtiä, mutta ei se tahtonut sinne jäädä. Kyllähän kahdesta saa vaikka...huivin?

Before I left I drifted over to Titityy's stand again and this time I did see something interesting. I was on the process of picking enough BC Garn Lucca (100% merino wool) for a sweater in this lovely soft turquoise when I spotted Soft Silk from the same company. It had this amazing deep turquoise-teal colour which of course does not look nearly as good in the photo as it is does in person. After that the Lucca was sort of wishy-washy and pale. I nearly didn't buy these either for they only had two skeins to offer. But, in the end my hand didn't want to let them go and so they came home with me. Two skeins is sure enough for, say, a scarf?

Siinäpä ne, ostokset. No, ok, ostin jotain pientä kuten korvakorut, nappeja ja Virkkuukoukkusen heijastimen (jänskempi ku 100 jänistä), mutta en jaksanut kaivella niitä esiin kuvattavaksi.

And that was that, my purchases that is. Well, ok, I did buy something small like a pair of earrings, some buttons and a reflector from Virkkuukoukkunen but I did not have the energy to go digging them out and taking photos.

Minäkin olin siellä! - I was there too!

Tampereen messuilla siis. Matkaan lähti viiden neulojan iskujoukko ja hauskaa oli (mukana mm. Midori, Satu ja Deb). Törmäsin moneen tuttuun neulojaan ja jopa äitiini. Lankojakin ostin, mutta en mitään hillitöntä määrää. Iltasella käytiin vielä Sirellä ja sitten kotiin väsyneinä mutta tyytyväisinä.

At the Tampere fair that is. The five of us (including Midori, Satu and Deb) took off early in the morning and we spent hours at the fair (and had fun). I met some knitters I now and even met my Mother there. I bought some yarns too but I was quite moderate. In the evening we visited Sire and then came home tired but happy.

Ensimmäiset ostokset tein Priiman kojusta, vaikka ko. kauppa on kyllä ihan käyntietäisyydelläkin. Mutta kun nämä olivat niin kauniin värisiä.. (Noro Silk Garden 211 viisi kerää).

The first yarns I got from the Priima stand, even though I can visit the shop whenever I please. But these were just so pretty to pass on...(Noro Silk Garden, 211, five balls).

Myöhemmin törmäsin äitiini joka halusi että neulon hänelle jotain kivaa, siispä menimme takaisin Priimaan ja ostimme Noro Kureyon-sukkalankaa pari vyyhtiä. Näistä pitäisi tehdä liivi neulekoneella, mutta se saa odottaa mittoja ja joulunjälkeistä aikaa. Väri on kyllä todella kaunis (S188), näistähän voisi tehdä jotain itsellekin.

Then later I ran into my Mother who wanted me to knit something nice for her. So back to Priima we went and came out with these: Noro Kureyon sock colour S188. These will become a vest knitted with the machine but it'll have to wait a bit until I get some measurements. Probably after xmas. The colour is nice though, might want to make something out of it for me too.

Toikalta mukaan löytyi uutta tuttavuutta, Merino Lux-lankaa (merino/tencel 50/50). Lanka taitaa olla aivan uusi valikoimissa koska sitä ei löyty netistä ja myyjä ei tiennyt sen pesusta mitään, mikä mielestäni oli hieman outoa. Mutta kolme kartiota hyppäsi kuitenkin mukaan, näistä jotain raitaista tai kirjoneuleista tulossa. Ja huomaatteko uuden värin? Tuollainen vaaleansinervä? Väriskaalan laajentaminen on joskus ihan hyvä juttu. Tosin tässä se lähti siitä että olin aikeissa päätyä normaaliväriini (jotain lilanpunaista) mutta Midori nappasi toisen kartion havittelemastani väristä ja siitä se sitten lähti. Tässä esiintyvät värit rich purple, navy ja whippleblue. Tuo rich purple (vasemmalla) on kyllä enemmän punerva luonnossa, mutta olen huomannut että sellaiset sävyt ovat haastavia kameralle. Mutta kuvitelkaa.

From Toika I grabbed three cones of Merino Lux (merino/tencel 50/50). I think the yarn is brand new in their selection for I could not find it on their on-line catalogue and the saleslady had no clue as to the washing instructions, which I thought a bit strange. But I wanted it nonetheless and came out with three cones. Can you see I bought a new colour? A sort of watery blue? It's good to broaden one's colour horizon once in a while. Though in this case it was bit of an accident since I had my eye on one of my usual colours (a sort of reddish purple) but Midori snatched the other cone right in front of me and I had to improvise. Not at all disappointed with my choises though. Here are the colours rich purple, navy and whippleblue. The rich purple is more red in real life but I've noticed that that kind of colours are a bit difficult for my camera. So you'll just have to imagine.

Tämä sitten ei ollutkaan enää mikään vahinko, tumman vedenvihreää BC Garn Silkbloom Fino-lankaa Titityyltä. Tätä lähti mukaan neljä vyyhtiä ja tästä tulee toivottavasti liivi. Jossa on jotain kivaa pintaneuletta/helppoa palmikkoa/jotain.

This, though, was no accident, a lovely deep aqua from the Titityy stand. Four balls of BC Garn Silkbloom Fino came home with me and will some day soonish become a vest of some kind. Maybe with a simple sitch pattern/cable/something.

Ja tähän päättyikin lankaesittelyt. Poimin mukaan vielä jotain kivaa Peikonpojalta, maatuskakuvioisen pikkupussin ja kerroslaskurin. Sain myös flunssan, mutta se ei ollut kyllä toivottujen listalla. Muuten messut olivat mukavat ja todennäköisesti menen myös ensi vuonna.

And that concluded our yarn section of today. I picked up also something small from Peikonpoika, a small pouch with russian doll pattern and a round calculator. I picked up a flu too but that wasn't intentional. Other than that I liked the fair and will probably go there next year too.
