Lankaa, lankaa - Yarn, yarn

Tänään oli Leppävaaratapaaminen. Siellä oli paljon lankaa ja ihmisiä. Ja, neulojia kun ollaan, niin lankaa oli taas ihasteltavana pöydän täydeltä. Keskellä kuvaa näkyy Regia Silk, iiihanan pehmeä sukkalanka, siinä vierellä Marjutin Ruotsin saalista (9.10 kirjoitus): Noro Blossom, ihanan punainen Debbie Bliss Maya, Colinetten Giotto ja Point Five pilkistelevät kuvan reunoilla ja lisäksi näkyy hieman Aracaunia-puuvillalankaa. Lisäksi kuvassa näkyy reunalla Kristelin silkki-mohair lanka (Madil Kid Seta). Se oli myös ihanan pehmeää. Se iso sekasotku muiden lankojen alla on Madeira-lankaani. Maya päätyi melkein "vahingossa" kassiini, mutta sain hillittyä itseni. Väri on kyllä niin ihana. Harmi, ettei moisia Colinette ja Debbie Bliss-lankoja myydä Suomessa...tai no, ehkä se onkin vain hyvä!

Today was Leppävaara meet. Lots of people and yarn was present. There was a tablefull of yarn to be fondled and admired. In the picture above you can see in the front Regia silk..lovely yarn, so soft! And behind or on top of that is Marjut's souvenirs from Stockholm (9.10 entry): Noro Blossom, the red and wonderful Debbie Bliss Maya, some Colinette Giotto and Point Five peeking there and also almost in the upper right corner is Aracaunia Cotton, the white one. In the left is Kristel's silk-mohair yarn (Madil Kid Seta) which was also yummy soft. The yarns are resting on my Madeira wool. The Maya almost "accidentally" ended up in my backpack but I managed to control myself by repeating "Must-not-steal-yarn" repeatedly many times. Too bad they don't sell any of that Debbie Bliss or Colinette stuff in Finland...or maybe it's a good thing, come to think of it.

Ja kun nyt olen toipunut suuresta menetyksestäni...ei, en saanut lankakerää takaisin, mutta Marjut lupautui armollisesti avustamaan kanssaneulojaa hädässä ja lähdemme siis Tallinnaan lauantaina...niin voinkin esitellä viikonlopun hankintoja: Novita Rustika lankaa Anttilasta. Tästä tulee kaulahuivi. Toivottavasti. Ainakin kaulahuiveja tarvitsisin. Voitteko uskoa: minulla ei ole yhden yhtä itse neulottua kaulahuivia (tai edes kenenkään toisen neulomaa).

And since I've recovered from my horrible loss...and no, I did not get the ball of yarn back, but Marjut kindly offered to help a fellow knitter in need and so we're going to Tallinn on Saturday...I thought I'd present you with my weekend acquisitions. Above is Novita Rustika yarn. It is almost half acrylic but I thought it'd make a lovely scarf. I'm in need of some scarves. Did you know that I don't own a single knitted scarf?

Sain myös äitini ystävättäreltä konvehtilaatikollisen pyöröpuikkoja. Suurin osa niistä on niitä normaaleja harmaita metallisia muovisiimalla. Mutta sitten löytyivät nämä kaksi:

I also got a small box full of circulars from a friend of my mother's. Most of them are normal boring grey aluminium ones with plastic wire but then I discovered these two:

Olisivatko nämä nyt sitten sitä vintagea? Kiiltävät metalliset pyöröpuikot joustavalla metallisella vaijerilla. Koko on jotain luokkaa 2mm. Aivan ihastuttavat...menneen ajan Addi turbot :-)

Would they be considered vintage? Shiny metallic circulars with a flexible metal wire. The size is something like 2mm. They are absolutely lovely...like ancient Addi turbos :-)
