Verilöyly, tai kun neulojalla keittää pahasti - Carnage, or when a knitter goes bad

What happens when you put a mock-nice skein of yarn and a knitter together? Well, one comes out victorious but it was not the skein this time. A pair of scissors and this is what happened. Let's not talk about it again, shall we?

Kaikilla on ilmeisesti oma juttunsa missä he ovat hyviä.

It appears that everyone has things that they're good at. Well, one of my things is taking a perfectly fine skein or ball of yarn and making a god-awful mess of it. It is more a rule than a random occurrence that it happens - just last weekend I managed to mess up a perfectly fine skein of Hand Maiden's Casbah. That I managed to untagle too, without resorting to the use of sharp objects. But knowing my affliction I wonder if this was really smart. For I ordered Colourmart's off-the-skein odds and ends from ebay. This is about 300 g's worth of 100 % cashmere.

Ja tässä on saman verran kashmir-puuvillaa. Jatkoa seuraa...

And here's about the same amount of cashmere-cotton. We'll be back...

The Casbah probably wasn't your fault! I had the exact same thing happen... winding it off the skein into a ball (using a perfectly good ball winder and swift) and it went kablooey! A big blob of tangled mess!
I think it's something in their skeining process.
Errr... sorry I can't give you the same reassurance about the other yarn...

Hi Kathleen, yes, I too suspect that the trouble with Casbah wasn't my fault. The yarn had twisted with itself weirdly somehow.
