Melkein kalustettu työhuone - Almost furnished spare room

Nyt meillä on melkein uusittu työhuone, pientä laittoa vain vailla... Ei tarvitse muuta tehdä kuin raivata edelliset romut pois ja pistää uusi hylly kasaan ja siinä se on! No, tässä vaiheessa uusi kirjahyllykompleksi on vain kasa lautaa ja paketteja eteisessä (kuvassa) ja hieman olohuoneessakin. Ja näin kätevästi sain kuvaan mukaan lankaa myös. Löysin vihdoinkin ne maanantaina hukassa olleet lankakerät. Eli Zitronin Kokon-lanka (silkkiä, puuvillaa, tekokuitua) oli poistotarjouksena Priimassa 2.5€/kerä ja eihän niitä voinut jättää sinne kun noin halpoja olivat joten kotiin seurasi viisi kerää tiilenpunaista lankaa ja yksi kerä harmaata. Joku raitapusero ensi kesäksi kenties?

Now we have a newly furnished spare room, just a few minor tweeks and twists needed... All we have to do is clear out the existing stuff, put together the new book shelf+desk complex and that's it! Well, the book shelf thingy is still in its boxed state in the hall (in the picture) and partly in the living room. And look how nicely I included some yarn in the photo also. I finally found the balls of yarn I had misplace on Monday. Kokon yarn (silk, cotton, acrylics) by Atelier Zitron was on sale 2.5€/50g ball at a LYS and I couldn't leave them there as the price was that so I came out with five balls of brick coloured yarn and one of grey. Maybe something short-sleeved for next summer perhaps?

Mietin hetken että uskaltaako tätä kuvaa tänne laittaakaan, kun huone on tällä hetkellä aika kaaoksessa osittain sen vuoksi että nurkasta on poistunut lipasto ja sen sisältämät tavarat ovat laatikoissa ja paperikasseissa ympäri lattiaa ja osaksi koska sinne tungetaan kaikki ylimääräinen, mutta päätin sitten laittaa sen tänne kuitenkin. Sitäpaitsi onhan se paljon dramaattisempaa kun voi näyttää ennen ja jälkeen-kuvat. Ja jos jälkeen-kuva ei ole paljon parempi niin ainahan sitä voi jälkikäteen editoida hengentuotoksiaan... Kannattaa muuten ostaa Familonin tyynyjä, niiden suojapussit on tosi käteviä langan säilytykseen.

I wondered for a while if I had the nerve to put this photo here because the state of the room at this moment is pretty chaotic partly due to the fact that there used to be a dresser in the corner and the the things it contained are in boxes and paper bags on the floor and partly because we just stuff all extra things in there. But in the end I decided to publish it because it's much more dramatic when I have the before and after-pictures. And if there is not a noticeable difference in the after-picture I can always edit this post afterwards... It is a good idea to buy new fancy pillows because the cover bags make nice yarn-storage bags.

Neulekonekurssi etenee hitaasti mutta varmasti. Viime kerralla opiskeltiin lisäyksiä ja kavennuksia ja päättely ja silmukoiden luominen kunnolla ja tehtiin erilaisia päärmekokeiluja. Tai ainakin yritettiin. Kyllä se siitä! Ensi kerralla pitäisi olla mukana jo se lanka mistä haluaa työnsä tehdä koetilkun tekoa varten. Minä olen päättänyt käyttää Kaschmerino-lankojani, mustaa ja limenvihreää. Jonkinlaisen puseron meinaan tehdä, mutta kuvioinnista en vielä ole varma. Jotain kirjoneuletta jos meille se opetetaan, jos ei niin raitoja.

The knitting machine class is going on slowly but surely. Last time we were taught increases and decreases, binding off and how to cast on properly and we made different kinds of edgings. Or at least we tried. I'll get there! Next time we're supposed to take along the yarn that we want to make the piece out of to make a swatch. I've decided to use my Kaschmerino yarns, the black and lime green ones. I'm going to make some kind of sweater, but I'm not sure what kind of patterning to use. Maybe fair-isle if we are taught that, if not, then stripes.
